Data Privacy Lawyer
Job Description
A forward-thinking US-based consulting firm is looking for a highly experienced Data Privacy Lawyer based in South Africa to help advise on international data protection and privacy regulations. This is a remote legal role supporting clients across North America, the EU, and Africa.
You’ll work on a variety of privacy and legal projects, including cross-border data sharing, vendor contracts, internal audits, and policy updates — playing a key role in helping businesses navigate the complex and ever-changing privacy landscape.
Key Responsibilities:

Advise clients on compliance with GDPR, CCPA, POPIA, and other major privacy frameworks.

Draft and review privacy policies, data processing agreements, and consent forms.

Support internal compliance audits and risk assessments.

Collaborate with technical, legal, and compliance teams in the US and globally.

Stay informed on legislative developments in data privacy laws across multiple jurisdictions.
Your Background:

Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years’ experience focused on data protection and privacy law.

Familiarity with global privacy regimes and digital data management practices.

Excellent legal drafting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Experience working in a remote legal advisory or consulting capacity is a plus.
