Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Doctors Consultant/Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of Northern Ireland-wide healthcare clients focused on temporary doctor placements.

This is a fast-paced role that combines client account management, candidate delivery, and revenue growth. You will play a key role in ensuring high service levels, maintaining strong relationships with clients and locum doctors, and driving successful placement outcomes across multiple healthcare settings.

The ideal candidate will have experience within medical recruitment or locum doctor staffing and will be confident managing urgent bookings, compliance processes, and client expectations simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management & Relationship Building

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of NHS trusts, private hospitals, and healthcare clients across the UK
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with hiring managers, rota coordinators, and key stakeholders
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all doctor placement requirements
  • Maintain excellent service delivery and ensure consistent fulfilment of bookings

Candidate Delivery & Recruitment

  • Source, screen, and place locum doctors into temporary assignments
  • Manage doctor availability, bookings, onboarding, and compliance requirements
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified doctors across various specialties and grades
  • Coordinate interview processes, placement confirmations, and post-placement support
  • Ensure all candidates meet regulatory and framework compliance standards

Commercial Growth & Performance

  • Identify opportunities to increase fill rates and expand service lines within existing accounts
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pay rates, and candidate availability
  • Support revenue growth through proactive account expansion and relationship management
  • Work toward individual and team KPIs relating to placements, revenue, and service delivery

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate records within the CRM and recruitment systems
  • Ensure all bookings, timesheets, and placement documentation are processed accurately
  • Work closely with compliance and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery
  • Respond quickly and effectively to urgent staffing requests and last-minute changes

Requirements

  • Proven experience within medical recruitment, specifically locum doctor staffing or healthcare recruitment
  • Strong understanding of temporary placements and the operational demands of healthcare staffing
  • Experience working with NHS clients, framework agreements, or healthcare providers is highly advantageous
  • Ability to manage multiple bookings and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Commercially aware with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
